Photovoltaics are manufactured using Cz-Si wafers. These Cz refers to Czochralski grown wafers. These are usually p-type (boron doped) wafers.
There is a text on books.google.com called "Handbook of Photovoltaic Science and Engineering" that describes this process. Are these cells being manufactured in the United States ? If not, why not? Most estimates point to a dramatic increase in the use of this technology in coming years. If so, are PV factories opening around the country ?
